Welcome to the ShanYu Art Gallery. We are a contemporary Chinese art gallery located in the heart of M50's Shanghai Art District. Our purpose is to discover, support and popularize contemporary Chinese artists in China and to abroad. As China continues along its current path of rapid economic development and Shanghai becomes an increasingly international city, the expression of Chinese culture has come to incorporate a variety of influences and Chinese contemporary art has absorbed different influences into its repertoire.

Still, Chinese culture remains undeniably unique and both on the streets of Shanghai and in the world of Chinese contemporary art. Our gallery seeks to underline the powerful influence of Chinese artistic tradition in contemporary Chinese art as it continues to develop. We seek to illustrate the beauty that comes of blending influences from many cultures and perspectives.  Our artists masterfully combine innovative contemporary style with traditional Chinese influence.

In the spirit of Shanghai’s rapid development towards becoming a global presence, we have established ourselves as an international Gallery and center for investment. As art investment specialists and long time veterans of Shanghai’s art scene, we believe strongly in our role as educators to both a local and international audience and welcome guests from all nationalities.
